Jo Hunter, Endorsed Midiwfe

Jo has been supporting birthing women since 1998, first as a doula and childbirth educator and then as a privately practising midwife since 2009. She birthed all 4 of her own children in water, 3 of whom were born at home.

Jo believes in women and the power of normal physiological childbirth. She offers continuity of midwifery care to the women she serves and works to the international definition of the midwife. She provides all care in the woman’s home and focuses on the woman’s individual unique needs, expectations and aspirations.

 

Jo recognises that the woman has the right to self-determination in terms of choice and control and her care encompasses the needs of the baby, the woman’s family, her significant others and her community.

 

Jo offers care from early pregnancy through to 6 weeks postnatal.
